FROM THE SOUTH ATLANTIC TO THE PROFESSIONAL BOATING
I was born in Puerto Madryn, Argentine Patagonia. I grew up among fishing boats, tourist boats for whale watching in the Valdes Peninsula and dry suit diving centers due to the low water temperatures.
Here I became certified as a PADI Rescue Diver while working as a lifeguard, consolidating my skills in aquatic rescue, maritime safety and scuba diving.
The sea has been my passion since childhood and over the years my connection to the sea and sailing has become a way of life.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
In 2010 I started my nautical studies in Argentina, Sailing and Motor Helmsman, Yacht Skipper and finally Yacht Pilot, graduating from the Captain Training Program of the Centro de Formación Superior de la Prefectura Naval Argentina (PNA). During this one-year training, I acquired experience in coastal, maritime and oceanic navigation through different stages of instruction:
-
Buenos Aires - Rio de Janeiro Offshore Regatta: Aboard the school sailboat Esperanza (63'), sailing for 18 days in demanding conditions, facing storms and intense watch days.
-
Patrolling the Argentinean Exclusive Economic Zone: 20-day voyage aboard the Coast Guard vessel GC-24 Mantilla, conducting illegal fishing controls in coordination with other vessels and aircraft of the Argentinean Naval Prefecture.
-
Expedition to Antarctica: 40-day training cruise aboard the oceanographic motor vessel Bernardo Houssay, transporting scientific personnel, equipment and supplies to the Argentine base in Antarctica, navigating the challenging Drake Passage and operating in ice areas of the South Pole.
In 2015, I started working as an instructor at the Instituto Superior de Navegación Darío Fernández (ISNDF) in Buenos Aires, teaching theoretical classes to helmsmen and leading sailing practices on the sailboat Maverick 46'. In this time I made more than 50 trips on the Rio de la Plata to ports such as Colonia del Sacramento, Carmelo, Juan Lacase, Montevideo, Piriápolis, Punta del Este and La Paloma in Uruguay, as well as Mar del Plata, Bahía Blanca and Puerto Madryn in Argentina.
These trips combined instruction with charter experience and served nautical students, sailors and recreational fishermen.
INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
In 2020 , I moved to Spain with the intention of working in the charter industry in Ibiza. However, due to the lack of validation of my Argentine qualifications, I had to re-take the qualifications for Recreational Craft Skipper (PER), Yacht Skipper (PY) with accompanying qualifications, and Yacht Captain (CY) .
During this period, I worked as a deckhand at the Botafoc Marina in Ibiza, maintaining and operating boats while also working as a freelance captain for various brokers and companies in the sector, operating trips for up to six passengers on motorboats, sailboats, and catamarans for the past four years.
In 2024 I obtained the Professional Recreational Boat Skipper (PPER) qualification for the commercial operation of boats in Spain and the European Union.
In 2021, I became certified as an Antarctic Expedition Leader by the International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators (IAATO). This allowed me to work as First Officer on The Polar Travel Company's Ocean Tramp 66' aluminum ocean-going sailboat.
In the 2021/22 southern hemisphere summer season, I undertook four 15-day charter voyages between Ushuaia and Antarctica, transporting groups of North American tourists on adventure expeditions. These Antarctic crossings required not only navigation skills in ice-covered areas, but also polar meteorology, leadership in remote environments, and knowledge of Antarctic species biodiversity.
